ADULT DOG TRAINING

Basic obedience starter program includes six lessons over six weeks. At your home, favorite park, or our kennels. This includes, but not limited to, teaching you and your dog to heel (walking on a loose leash), sit, sit/stay, down, down/stay, and come to a sit. Plus behavior problems. This program is totally dependant on you working your dog, on a daily basis, around other people, dogs, animals, distactions, etc.

Intermideate and advanced training is available and will be custom designed for your goals and abilities to achieve them.
"Board and Train" is available at "Live Oak Kennel" in Blum, Tx.

"North Texas Ringsport" is for "French Ringsport" competition and membership is required. Visitors are welcome to bring their dogs.

Dogs need socialization, excersise, obedience, and reward. Dogs have strengths and weaknesses due but not limited to, breed, bloodlines (pedigree), personal history, age, etc. You should always choose a dog on what you want the dog for and the living conditions and lifestyle you will give him. Training will help any dog to be a better dog, but it takes a good dog to move up to an excellent dog.

You have to realize that dogs are "pack animals". They are totally dependant on people and need a "pack leader". This is hard wired into their brain from thousands of years of domestication. They need you and/or your family to be their leader. This is true of puppies and even dogs that have been abused or rescued.

They will respond to positive training for your reward/praise. Negative training should only be used correctly and kept to a bare minimum, always followed immediatly by positive reinforcement.
